Benefits of window tint

  • 99% UV blocking to help protect occupants and reduce interior fading.
  • Heat rejection for a more comfortable cabin.
  • Added privacy within legal shade limits.
  • Reduced glare from bright sunlight.
  • Protection for interior surfaces against sun-related discoloration.

Ask us to confirm the specifications of your selected film before installation.

Massachusetts tint law

Front side windows must allow at least 35% visible light transmission (VLT), measured through the glass and film together. The standard also applies to aftermarket tint on rear side and rear windows. Factory privacy glass on SUVs and trucks is distinct from adding darker aftermarket film; a vehicle being an SUV or truck does not by itself establish an exemption.

Windshield tint is limited to the permitted upper strip, down to the AS-1 line within the uppermost six inches, without obstructing the driver’s view. We install options that comply with Massachusetts requirements.

Your window tint installation

  1. Plan: confirm your vehicle, windows, film and legal shade.
  2. Prepare: inspect and clean the glass; arrange old-film removal when needed.
  3. Fit: size and shape the film for each window.
  4. Install: apply the film and smooth it carefully against the glass.
  5. Check: inspect the finish and explain your film’s aftercare.

Aftercare and curing

Do not lower the windows for 3–5 days. Use ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft cloth when cleaning is permitted by your film’s care instructions.

Full cure time varies with the film, temperature and humidity. Follow the instructions given at handover rather than assuming the film has fully cured when the windows can first be lowered. Contact us if you have concerns during drying.

What tint percentage is legal in Massachusetts?+

The standard minimum is 35% visible light transmission (VLT) for front side windows and aftermarket tint on rear side and rear windows. Compliance depends on the glass and film together. Factory glazing and approved exemptions have separate rules. Windshield tint is limited to the permitted upper strip. We install MA-legal options at our Malden shop.

How long does tint installation take?+

Installation time depends on the vehicle, number of windows and whether old tint must be removed. Send your vehicle details and the windows you want tinted; we will confirm the expected appointment time before booking.

How long does window tint last?+

Film life depends on the film selected, exposure and care. Ask us about the specific carbon or ceramic film when requesting your quote; we will confirm its expected lifespan and any applicable warranty before installation.

When can I roll my windows down after tint?+

Keep your windows up for 3–5 days after installation and follow the care instructions provided for your film. Drying and full curing depend on the film and weather; the initial window-up period does not necessarily mean the film is fully cured.

Do you remove old tint?+

Yes. Existing-film removal is quoted separately. Tell us which windows have old tint and send photos so we can account for removal before confirming your appointment.

Does ceramic tint block more heat than carbon?+

Ceramic tint offers higher heat rejection than our carbon option while maintaining premium clarity. Exact performance depends on the selected film and shade; ask us to compare the available options for your vehicle.
